Informa Markets in the Philippines is optimistic that this year’s Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines will empower stakeholders from both subsectors to adopt technology and enter new markets, helping fuel economic growth at the regional and national levels. On its opening day on 22 May 2024 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines highlight the importance of innovation and technology to develop sustainable farms and improve the livestock and aquaculture production in the country.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Ms. Rungphech Chitanuwat, the Country General Manager of Informa Markets in the Philippines and is graced by Honorable Senator Francis “Tol” Tolentino and Undersecretary for Livestock of the Department of Agriculture, Deogracias Victor Savellano, who represented Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr.

Some of the topics that will be presented courtesy of select association partners and events exhibitors are livestock farming, swine production, alternative feeds, farm operation, and sustainability to name a few.
Ms. Chitanuwat said that the conferences and forums scheduled during this year’s Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines demonstrate the strong commitment of Informa Markets and the Department of Agriculture to help level up the two subsectors. “The vast potential of the Philippines’ livestock and aquaculture subsectors can be realized by bringing together stakeholders, technology providers, and people who have access to new markets, among many others, through events like Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines,” she added.
Furthermore, the 1st Biosecurity Asia Forum highlights the relevance of having a well-made biosecurity measure and is anticipated to gather industry practitioners who are keen to learn new approaches in different sectors such as swine, poultry, and aquaculture. Speakers from Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines are expected to set the educational tone on the stage.

With the help of industry partners, Livestock Philippines and Aquaculture Philippines are set to show promising results this year, giving more business opportunities to the exhibitors and learnings to the trade visitors. Notably, the Batangas Egg Producers Cooperative (BEPCO) and the U.S. Soybean Export Council have jointly initiated the official launch of Bidang Egg Kids. This comprehensive project aims to combat protein malnutrition among children in the country. Furthermore, the Livestock Philippines Recognition returns to acknowledge the contributions of groups, cooperatives, and industry associations that have significantly contributed to the advancement of the livestock and aquaculture sectors in the country. The exhibition hall will feature educational attractions, such as the Eggcellent Corner by the Batangas Egg Producers Cooperative, and Sustainability Square spearheaded by Prestige Paper Products and the Central Luzon, the events’ Sustainability Partners.
This year marks the 7th edition of Livestock Philippines, while Aquaculture Philippines is in its 4th edition, aiming to establish itself as an independent event in the next edition.
